Group Tours
Our Group Tours for 2026 will be available on request for visits between the months of February - May, week days only.
Dates and availability are upon request.
These one hour Group Tours are an opportunity for groups to have a private tour of our facility - all to themselves! (minimum of 10 people, maximum of 20).
This tour is aimed at raising awareness about New Zealand’s only endemic bird of prey, the Kārearea/NZ Falcon, the threats they face, and how to support our goal of restoring kārearea populations in the wild.
The tour includes an educational talk about both the falcons and the work we carry out here at the Kārearea Falcon Trust, followed by a walk-through of our aviary. It provides you with a chance to learn about and view some of the resident falcons in our care.
Attendees will have the opportunity to put their name into a hat for a chance to win a Falcon Encounter as a fun-falcon-finale to their visit! The lucky winner (drawn randomly) will get to head inside an aviary with a KFT member of staff and meet our advocacy kārearea up-close on a falconry glove.
Please note: all interactions with our Advocacy kārearea are entirely on their terms. Participation is always dependent on the individual bird’s health, wellbeing, and willingness on the day. We are committed to respectful, positive, and choice-led experiences that prioritise the welfare of our birds above all else
