Flash
MALE | Arrived 2021
-
Flash was found as a juvenile male in 2021, grounded in the Riverlands area of Marlborough and in need of rescue.
He was very underweight, weighing only 250grams.
After having x-rays taken it was revealed he had a very badly broken wing which was an old injury. The break had healed, with the bones fused back together in a good position for balance but leaving him unable to fly.
The severity of his injury meant it was unlikely he would every fly again.
After some rehabilitation to bring him back up to a healthy weight, he was paired up with past female falcon called Sparky.
After Sparky’s release in March 2023, Flash has been awaiting a long-term breeding partner.
Flash was named by Renwick School after one of their school visits.
