Bobby
FEMALE | Rescued January 2026
-
On the morning of 29th January 2026 we received notification from DOC and the Holmes family about a juvenile female falcon that had collided with the tinted window of a parked vehicle while chasing prey in Havelock.
On arrival Bobby was in critical condition; she was immediately stabilised and brought back to the Trust. Two weeks of intensive care produced steady improvements in alertness, coordination, posture and appetite.
While her condition has near completely improved, she has sustained permanent damage to her left eye, preventing her ability to hunt and survive in the wild.
She will join the breeding program, paired with resident male Flash.
Bobby was named by the Holmes family who rescued her, due to her bobbing head. They performed a fantastic falcon rescue, keeping her safe and calm.
