Maia
FEMALE | Arrived April 2019
-
Maia arrived at the Marlborough Kārearea Falcon Trust in April 2019 as a juvenile.
She was found by a member of the public at Jacks Point in Queenstown where they suspect she was hit by a car.
Maia was taken to Dunedin Wildlife Hospital for treatment, where it was found she had nerve and tendon damage to her right wing.
After some time spent at Dunedin Wildlife hospital they saw little improvement in her mobility. Maia was then transferred to us here at the Kārearea Falcon Trust for further rehabilitation and to join our breeding program.
She has been paired up with our resident male, Rocky.
Maia was affectionately named by the daughter of the family who found her.

Maia is currently not banded.
