Preschoolers this is for you!

Falcon Fun Programme

Tailored for 2-5 year old children this Falcon Fun programme is for classes or groups of up to 25 preschoolers and accompanying adults (maximum of 10).

We offer this this program to the range of Early Childhood Education providers in Marlborough including Centre-based teacher-lead services and Centre-based parent and whanau-led services.

This education and advocacy programme for preschoolers aims to raise awareness of our natural environment and inspire conservation mindsets towards New Zealand’s native and endemic species.

It includes an introduction to and reading of a simplified version of our Kōwhai & Tahi activity book. Our guest presenter, a kārearea puppet, assists with the delivery which adds to the fun!

We then go for a walkthrough of the aviary to visit Kōwhai & Tahi and their many feathered friends, finishing up outside Scouts aviary for the option of a group photo.

Back in our education space ‘The Nest’ we have a chat about what we’ve seen, heard and learnt. We sing a song about falcons written for the Kārearea Falcon Trust by the talented entertainer, musician and children’s author Craig Smith.

All children will receive their own copy of the ‘Meet Kōwhai & Tahi’ activity book full of falcon focused activities, and educators will receive a copy of our Falcon Fun Colouring Page carefully crafted by Illustrator Margaret Tolland.

$5 per child

$10 per adult

We are open to sponsorship of this programme so that we can offer this visit free to preschool providers in Marlborough.
