Silent Auction: bids open below

Sculpture Catalog: Metalworks Wanaka

Metalworks Wanaka was inspired to create this sculpture collection to support the conservation efforts of the Kārearea Falcon Trust. A portion of the proceeds from every sculpture sold will be donated to the Trust.

Moved by the prowess, power, speed and striking beauty of the kārearea, New Zealand’s Native falcon and 2025 Bird of the tear, this collection includes a series of one-of-a-kind sculptures as a visual tribute to one of Aotearoa's New Zealand's most remarkable and endangered birds of prey.

Bids are now open as part of a Silent Auction. Silent bidding will close prior to the live action on Thursday 21st May 2026., after which the leading bids will move into a Live Auction held at the Wine + Food Experience in Blenheim.

Final winners will be notified at the close of the live auction.

Artwork Catalog: Featured NZ Artists

The Kārearea Falcon Trust is proud to showcase a beautiful collection of falcon-inspired artwork for our Auction for Falcons 2026 fundraiser, generously provided by three talented New Zealand artists. This year’s collection features breathtaking works from award-winning artist Indigo Wise, professional photographer Bryan Isbister, and our very own Trust Manager Holly Turner.

Indigo Wise

A long-time supporter of the Kārearea Falcon Trust, award-winning artist Indigo Wise has generously contributed three exceptional pieces to this year’s auction.

Featured works include:

  • Master of Flight Draft Original (unframed) — starting bid $800

  • Master of Flight limited edition giclée print, small framed with off-white box frame — starting bid $450

  • Falcon Flight limited edition giclée print, framed with off-white box frame — starting bid $1700
    Dimensions: 460 x 1370mm

Indigo’s Master of Flight Draft Original marks the first time this remarkable preliminary study has ever been offered for sale. Draft Originals are a rare opportunity to own one of Indigo’s early creative explorations: rough visual plans developed to experiment with composition, colour, form, and movement before committing to a final piece. Rich with energy and raw artistic process, these works offer a unique glimpse into the foundation of her celebrated creations. One of Indigo’s previous Falcon Draft Originals sold for over $2,000, making this an especially exciting addition to the auction.

Those wishing to explore more of Indigo’s stunning work can visit Return to Eden Gallery at Saint Clair Winery, Selmes Road.

Bryan Isbister Photography

Professional photographer Bryan Isbister is contributing a beautifully framed wildlife photograph titled Kārearea / Falcon 002. Capturing the striking intensity and grace of New Zealand’s falcon, Bryan’s work showcases the remarkable detail and character of one of Aotearoa’s most iconic birds of prey. His photography celebrates the natural world through powerful imagery that inspires appreciation and conservation.

Holly Turner

For the first time ever, Kārearea Falcon Trust Manager Holly Turner is offering one of her original artworks for public sale — an acrylic painting of Scout, the Trust’s beloved advocacy kārearea. Since 2023, Scout and Holly have worked side-by-side welcoming schools, community groups, and visitors to our conservation centre, helping inspire thousands of people to connect with kārearea and efforts to restore the species. Donating this piece marks a deeply personal milestone for Holly, representing a lifelong dream to have her artwork “take flight” in support of the species she is so passionate about protecting.
